Lexie Hitting The Greens - 50 in 50 - #3

Lexie is my niece and I love any opportunity that I get to take pictures of her pretty face!  Whether it be a family get together, school activity or an actual photo shoot!

Lexie is in high school and is very active!  I'm not sure there are any academics or sports that she hasn't at least tried!

She's been playing golf for a few years now but I just recently was able to make it to one of her golf events.  It was high school sectionals so I didn't hang around long as I didn't want to distract her but I was able to get a few great shots while I was there!

Something to think about with this blog post is that it doesn't have to be a professional, posed photo shoot, it can be a sporting event, school activity, birthday party, family get together, etc. Like my cover photo says "Photography Is A Big Scrapbook Of Your Life" so you won't just see the posed photo shoots here, you're going to see the what happens in every day life shots too!!

So, let me introduce you to Lexie - Pretty Face #3 In My 50 Faces In 50 Days Photo Series!

Best Friends Maternity Shoot - 50 in 50 - #1 & #2

I've been lucky enough to be able to take pictures of Stephanie a few times now!  She is such a sweetie!!  As I've blogged before, Stephanie is a relative on my husband's side of the family!

When she asked me about doing a best friends photo shoot for her and her best friend, Michelle, I was super excited!

Stephanie and Michelle are long time best friends and it turned out that they were both expecting at the same time!

They decided that they wanted pictures together to capture their friendship as well as the future friendship of their babies!

What a special time in your life to be able to share with your best friend and what a perfect idea to document it with pictures!

Let me introduce you to Stephanie and Michelle - Pretty Faces #1 & #2 In My 50 Faces In 50 Days Photo Series!

50 Faces In 50 Days!

One might say that I've dabbled in a little bit of everything, I'm 45, going on 46 years old and I'm fairly sure I'm not done dabbling yet!!

At one time many, many years ago I dabbled in selling  Mary Kay, for a brief period of time.  Mary Kay used to (I don't know if they still do or not) but they used to challenge you to make over 30 Faces in 30 Days!!

A while back I decided I was going to photograph 50 Faces in 50 Days!  Of course, with our usually crazy, busy life, I hadn't found the perfect time to get started with my own, personal challenge until recently!

So, here I am closing in on my 50 Faces in 50 Days!  My plan was originally to wait and blow you all away with these 50 beautiful faces all at once, but I'm not sure you all can handle all these pretty faces at one time!!  So, I've decided to space it out and post a few here and there!!  And, in all honesty, I just can't wait any longer to share them!!  I do promise not to take 50 days to share them all!!

So be watching, I plan to share the first two faces this weekend!  I can't wait to share with you what I've been up to!!

And, it's not too late!  Even though I'm almost at my 50, I will be taking more!!  The trees and landscape are beautiful right now, there are so many great locations to take pictures!!  But the clock is ticking as the temperatures will continue to drop!

If you're wanting pictures taken please let me know as soon as possible so we can make sure to find the time to get it done!!

Well . . . .I Guess It's Time To Make It "Official" With An "Official" Name!

Since I got my new camera about a year and a half ago I've been on a quest to improve my photography skills, build my portfolio, and learn all that I can about taking the best photos that I can!

And, although I believe photography is like anything else, you never stop learning and the more practice you get, the better you get, I believe that I've progressed enough to give myself a "name."

I've been taking pictures and posting under "Capturing Your Precious Moments Photography" on my Facebook Page.  I will continue to use "Capturing Your Precious Moments" as my tag line because that's what I love to do, capture the moments that are precious to you!  But I've decided to go with "SW Photography."  I want to thank Joe Ashworth Designs for putting together my first, "official" logo!

Anyone who knows me knows that my handwriting and signature are not the best, even going from my very long maiden name of "Stacy Herrenbruck" to my shorter married name of "Stacy Wagner," I still can't seem to take the time to have a nice signature, so shortening it up even more and using "SW" was an easy decision for me!  Plus, I love the idea of using my name so that anyone who sees one of my pictures will know I took it!

So, here's the first "official" logo of SW Photography!

I'll be putting together many more blog posts in the next couple of weeks to let everyone know what I've been up to and you'll be seeing my logo alot!

On one of my recent photo shoots my "client" who happened to be my sister, said "you need a logo and business cards" to which I replied "it's already in the works!"

This last week and past weekend was loaded with photo shoots and I figured that today would be the perfect time to roll out the new logo for everyone to see!

Heather's Senior Pictures - Summer Session!

Being new to the "semi-professional" photography world, my first two Senior picture sessions were taken the Spring of this year, right before the Senior's graduation time.  We got some great photos of Jaelan and Andrea but I would have loved to have had time to take more!!  Of course, I can never take enough, I like for my subjects to have a lot of pictures to choose from!!!

The way Senior pictures were done way back in my day, we went to the local studio the summer before beginning our Senior year and did indoor and outdoor photos and that was it.  The trend now days seems to be several different sessions at different times of the  year, a trend that I absolutely love!! Capturing moments of their Senior year at different times of the year, during the different seasons, different activities, different events, what a great idea!

So with my most recent Senior, Heather, North High School Class of 2016, we got started early by taking her first session, a summer session, at the beginning of her Senior year!  This will give us lots of time to take more pictures during Heather's Senior year!

Heather is a relative of ours and was so much fun to work with.  I'm looking forward to getting her in front of my camera again soon!!   We had a great day for her first picture session and we got some really great shots!

I've shared a few of my favorites here on the blog but there are a lot more so make sure to visit the 2015 - Heather's Sr. Pics - Summer Session!  album on my Facebook page!!  And, new  to my photography business, you can also check out Heather's photo gallery on my SW Photography page by clicking this link - 2015 - Heather's Senior Pictures.

If you or someone you know needs Senior Pictures, have them contact me, there's still time for that "summer session" and I'd love to get them in front of my camera!

Shaun & Stephanie's Maternity Photos!

It's been a while since I've posted on my blog so tonight I decided it was time!  Although I've not taken a lot of pictures recently since I've been so crazy busy with non-photography business, I have had a few photo shoots!!  I've got a few more on my calendar in the next few weeks so I thought I'd better start getting my blog caught up with the pictures that I have taken but haven't blogged about yet!!

Today we celebrated the rapidly approaching arrival of Baby Carter!  I had the privilege of taking some maternity photos for Baby Carter's Mom and Dad a while back!!  Carter's Mom, Stephanie, is a cousin on Mike's side of the family.  I was thrilled when they asked me to take a few pictures for them!

No different than any of my other photo shoots, I was a nervous wreck before meeting with Shaun and Stephanie to take their pictures.  I think I get so nervous because I know how important pictures are!!  I worry about my photo clients being disappointed with their photos.  I think that's why I tend to take so many when I do get together with someone to take their pictures!!  I want to make sure to have a lot to choose from when we go through their pictures!

I love the way their pictures turned out!  It was a great day outside of being a tad bit warm and being swarmed by bugs!  Lesson learned, carry bug spray in your equipment bag!!

Today was a great day with lots of family and friends celebrating the upcoming arrival of Carter!

Here are a few of my favorites from Shaun and Stephanie's maternity session.  Make sure to visit the Shaun & Stephanie Maternity Pics  album on my Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook page!

Stephanie & Shaun's Baby Gender Reveal!

I've never been to a Baby Gender Reveal Party so when our cousin, Stephanie, said that they were having one, and asked if I would be willing to come and take some pictures for them I was super excited and of course I said YES!!

It really is very cleaver the way one of these can be set up (of course there are many different ways you can do this)!

Shaun and Stephanie had their ultrasound that would reveal the gender of their little one.  The hospital tech put the photo that revealed the gender into a sealed envelope which was given to Stephanie's mother who then took the envelope to the party store along with the box that they had prepared.

The party store filled the box with balloons in the color matching the gender revealed on the ultrasound and sealed it up.

Then all you have to do is get your friends and family together to open the box to release the colored balloons to reveal the gender!

So what did the balloons in the box reveal??  Check out the pictures below to see!!  And, as always, you can see more pictures on my Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook Page by visiting the Stephanie & Shaun Gender Reveal album!

It isn't just the posed family photos, the posed senior photos, or the maternity photos that you want to capture, it's the things that most people don't think to call a photographer for, the gender reveal parties, the first birthday parties (actually any birthday party), the retirement parties, etc., those are the things I'd love to help you capture!!  Congratulations Stephanie and Shaun and thank you for letting me be there to take these pictures for you!

Jaelan's Senior Pictures!

Jaelan is another cousin and I've taken a lot of pictures of him this year!  As per the title of this post, Jaelan is a Senior and he is also a member of the Reitz High School Basketball team that had a very successful year in the 2014-2015 school year!   The earlier part of this year a lot of our time was spent going to basketball games to watch Jaelan and his teammates work their magic!  Such a talented team!  I was able to give my camera a workout with a lot of sports action shots!  These players can JUMP and it would always amaze me when I'd get home, load my pictures, and see all the pictures of basketball players in the air!  What a fun season!

Jaelan's dad had talked to me last fall about doing some senior pictures for him.  We decided to wait until early this year when it got warm enough to do the pictures.  We were finally able to get together last week to take the first part of Jaelan's pictures!

We decided to start off at Burdette Park for Jaelan's pictures.  I was excited to get to take his pictures and especially excited to take pictures of him with his car - a super cool Mustang!  I also had the treat of getting to take some of the pictures with his sweetie, Abbie!

After Burdette Park we hit the railroad tracks near there.  I had used the railroad tracks last fall for my niece and her boyfriend and their pictures turned out great!  I also love what I consider a "hidden meaning" in pictures with railroad tracks or a road, I think of it like someone is on a journey and in this case, one journey (high school and high school basketball) is coming to an end and Jaelan will be heading out on his next journey (college and college basketball) this summer.

We got a lot of great pictures of Jaelan (and Abbie) and I'm hoping we are able to get together to take some more that we've discussed taking!

Here are a few of my favorites, but as always, you can find more by visiting the 2015 - Jaelan's Senior Pictures album on my Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook Page!

Andrea's Senior Pictures - Take #1

So you may remember Andrea, and her sister Jessica, cousins of ours that decided to take some photos for a Mother's Day Surprise for their Mom!!  The day we took those photos we were actually out and about to take Andrea's Senior Pictures - Take #1!  My first "official" Senior Picture Photo Shoot!!

When taking the pictures we visited a couple of spots and got some great photos!  In fact, last night when I was picking the ones I wanted to edit, I just couldn't stop picking pictures . . . .I love them all and am super excited about how they are coming out!!!  Andrea is so pretty and was so much fun to work with!  Her pictures are going to make a great addition to my portfolio!!

Realizing that I could not edit every single one that we took (we took a BUNCH), I finally made myself narrow down the ones that I'd work on last night, which still ended up being a bunch and resulted in a very late night!!

The day that we took Andrea's pictures was a bright sunshiny day and the photos really don't require much editing at all!  We picked a couple of really great spots to start with for her Take #1 of her Senior Pictures!  We started out at the Master Gardener's Plat (which has quickly become a favorite of mine)!  If I haven't said it before there are so many spots to take pictures there and right now it is really beautiful!  The second spot we hit was Burdette Park which has quite a few nice spots as well!

Andrea and I are planning to get together at least one more time for more pictures which explains the "Take #1," her graduation is actually this week and "Take #2" is going to have to wait until after that as graduation week is a very busy time!!

So, here are some of the pictures from Take #1!  Make sure to visit the 2015 - Andrea's Senior Pictures album on my Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook Page!  And be watching for pictures from Take #2!

Dylan's First Birthday Party!!

Dylan's Mom and Dad are relatives on my Mom's side of the family!

As I am with all my photo requests, when Dylan's Mom asked if I would come to her first birthday party to take pictures, I was pretty excited!!  I love first birthday parties!!  Well, to be honest I love all birthday parties!!

Being able to help capture the precious moments at a birthday party is great, especially first birthday parties!!

Will they smash the cake or won't they???  You just never know!!!

Dylan's party was Dr. Seuss Theme which seems to be very popular right now!  Her mom had decked the shelter house out really cute!!

I'm glad to have been able to drive up to the party to take some pictures for them!!!

A few are posted below in collages!  The full size photos, plus a few more can be found in the Dylan's First Birthday! album on my Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook Page!

The Wade Family!

If I haven't said it before, I will say it now . . . . .we have a lot of family!!  My side is what I would consider big - I have 5 siblings, some of them have kids, but not a lot of kids, and I have a few Aunts and Uncles but not alot!  Mike on the other hand, I wouldn't exactly say his family is big, I'd say it's actually what you would consider huge!!  The reason for mentioning that is that if you see a lot of posts about pictures for family you will understand why!!  I'm just thankful to have so many people to practice with!

Joe is one of Mike's cousins on Mike's mom's side of the family!  I recently was given the opportunity to get together with Joe, Jamie, and their kids to take some pictures for them!

We had originally talked about traveling up to the Azaela Path Arboretum & Botanical Gardens  to take their pictures but we ultimately decided on meeting at the Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Associations Garden Plat on the Lloyd Expressway.

I usually like to drive by a day or so before to check out where I'll be taking pictures, just to see how everything looks!  Given the last minute change in location I didn't have a lot of time at the location prior to our shoot.  I had driven by once about an hour before our shoot and was totally disappointed, it didn't look from my car that anything was in bloom . . . .but once I returned and actually got out and walked around, I found it to be beautiful and pretty much in full bloom!

I must admit, I was a tad bit disappointed that we didn't travel to the Azaela Path as I'd never been there and have been wanting to go, but a trip to the Master Gardener's Plat is always a good trip too!  In fact, I used the spot again last week for some Senior Pictures that I took - my first "official" senior picture photo shoot!  Be keeping an eye out for those photos in the next few days!  If you've never been to the Master Gardner's plat, you really should check it out!!  There are so many spots to take pictures!

So, here are a few of Joe, Jamie, Ethan & Emma's photos!  You can see more by following this link to the Joe, Jamie, Ethan & Emma  album on the Capturing Your Precious Moments Facebook Page!

2015 - Bosse Prom Group!

Another cousin, Andrea, asked me to take prom pictures for her group too!!  It just so happened that Andrea and Kayla (2015 North Posey Prom Group) and their groups were planning pictures at the exact same time, in fact, in two different states!!  Andrea and her group planned to first meet up at Audubon State Park then head down to Haynie's Corner in downtown Evansville!

Not having the ability to be in two places at one time I made arrangements with one of my photographer friends to take care of Andrea's prom group photo shoot for me!  My plan was to meet up with them after I was done with Kayla's group so that I could watch my friend Rhonda in action!!  It turned out that Rhonda was not able to make it to the second location and I had to step in to take pictures there.

My friend, Rhonda, has been taking pictures for a long time and she did a fantastic job on the Audubon Park photos!  It's nice to know that you have friends that are willing to step in and help you out if they are able to!!  I have several photographer friends that I know I can call on if ever I need to!!

I work just minutes from the Haynie's Corner area but I've never been there to take pictures and I'm glad I had the opportunity to do so!  It's a really neat area!

I am thrilled and grateful that both Kayla and Andrea asked me to take photos for them!  What I love most about my prom photo taking filled day was that the two photo shoots really were completely different and didn't have anything in common other than that they were both prom photos and they were both for family members!  The settings for the photos were completely different as was the style of the photos!  It was a day that kept me hopping but I loved every minute of it!!

Here are a few of the photos from the second prom group and you can check out more photos by visiting the 2015 - Bosse Prom Group album on my Facebook page!

2015 - Prom #1 - North Posey

Mike and I are North Posey Alumni!  My sister, brother-in-law and their girls live in Posey County and they all go to North Posey!  When Mike's Aunt and Uncle moved out to Posey County with their two kids, Kayla and Jacob, adding two more North Posey Vikings to the family Mike and I were thrilled!!

Mike's son, Josh, lived with us and went to North Posey, we were very involved with his sports, events, etc. so when he graduated, it was a bit of a change not having to run up to North Posey for sporting events, etc.  Thankfully the Sanford Kids and the Fifer Girls are all very active in school and give us plenty of opportunity to visit our Alma Mater!!

When Kayla asked if I would take prom pictures for her this year I was thrilled!!  I hadn't taken any prom pictures since Josh was in high school!

Kayla let me know that there would be 5 couples going together as a group!  We discussed a few different locations to take pictures and finally decided upon taking them in our yard.  It was a close location for the kids that wouldn't require them to do a lot of driving before prom!

The evening of prom, as soon as I got home, I began editing photos, I can't help myself after a recent photo shoot!  I love going through the pictures and editing them!  Unfortunately, after editing quite a few photos my laptop died and all the work I had done was lost.  But, thankfully, the original pictures (thank goodness for those memory cards that will hold 8,000+ pictures) were still on my camera!  This week is catch up week after falling behind due to the laptop crash!

Last night was working on photos from Prom #1 - North Posey!  Here are a few pictures of the Group!  You can find more by visiting the 2015 - North Posey Prom Group album on my Facebook page!
